I just can’t get enough of USS. An amazing duo from Toronto, which is quickly catching on all over the world. Their music is generally like nothing I have really ever heard before. I think the wikipedia article on them describes the sound best: The USS sound is a mixture of drum and bass grunge-like guitar riffs and 2-step rhythms. “We like to call what we do ‘the campfire after-party,’ ” Buchholz says. “It’s like you’re at Nirvana Unplugged but there’s a drum and bass party and glow sticks all around you.”
Their first single hit was Hollowpoint Sniper Hyperbole quickly became a hit after being played in heavy rotation on 102.1 The Edge in Toronto. The band did not expect the sudden fame, and quickly got to work recording more songs, and putting together videos.
Another song for which the music video really shows how crazy and unique these guys are, is Laces Out. A song inspired by Ace Ventura.
I would like all my American friends to give them a listen. Enjoy
I think I relate to this song because I have found myself in this position a few times in my life. Trying to convince female friends that their abusive or love-less relationship with their partner is not worth staying together for. Sure, call me evil. But I believe that you should always enjoy life.
Blue morning, Blue morning
Wrapped in strands of fist and bone.
Curiosity, Kitten, doesn’t have to mean you’re on your own.
Your can look outside your window,
He doesn’t have to know.
We can talk a while, baby.
We can take it nice and slow.
All your life is such a shame, shame, shame.
All your love is just a dream, dream, dream.
Well, are you happy where you’re sleeping?
Does he keep you safe and warm?
Does he tell you when you’re sorry?
Does he tell you when you’re wrong?
I’ve been watching you for hours.
It’s been years since we were born.
We were perfect when we started,
I’ve been wondering where we’ve gone.
All your life is such a shame, shame, shame.
All your love is just a dream, dream, dream.
Well, I dreamt I saw you walking up a hillside in the snow
Casting shadows on the winter sky, as you stood there counting crows.
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for girls and four for boys,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
There’s a bird that nests inside you
Sleeping underneath your skin.
Yeah, when you open up your wings to speak
I wish you’d let me in.
All your life is such a shame, shame, shame.
All your love is just a dream, dream, dream.
Open up your eyes
You can see the flames, flames, flames.
of your wasted life.
You should be ashamed.
Yeah, you don’t want to waste your life, baby.
You don’t wanna waste your life, now darlin.
You don’t wanna waste your life, baby.
You don’t wanna waste your life, now darlin.
Oh, you don’t wanna waste your life, now babe.
I said you don’t wanna waste your life, now darlin.
Oh, you don’t wanna waste your life, now baby.
Oh, you don’t wanna, you don’t wanna waste your life, now darlin.
Change, change, change.
Change.
Change.
Change.
I walk along these hillsides in the summer ‘neath the sunshine.
I am feathered by the moonlight falling down on me.
I said I walk along these hillsides in the summer ‘neath the sunshine.
I am feathered by the moonlight falling down on me.
I said I will walk along these hillsides in the summer ‘neath the sunshine.
I am feathered by the moonlight falling down on me.
I said I will walk along these hillsides in the summer ‘neath the sunshine.
I am fettered by the moonlight.
This song really makes me think a lot about its meaning, and how it can be adjusted to relate to me and my life.
I think it can easily be adjusted to anyones life really. Take a listen
Get hot
Get too close to the flame
Wild open space
Talk like an open book
Sign me up
Got no time to take a picture
I’ll remember someday
All the chances we took
We’re so close to something better left unknown
I can feel it in my bones
Gimme sympathy
After all this is gone
Who would you rather be
The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?
Oh seriously
You’re gonna make mistakes you’re young
Come on baby play me a song,
Like “Here comes the sun”
Don’t go
Stay with the all unknown
Stay away from the hooks
All the chances we took
We’re so close to something better left unknown
We’re so close to something better left unknown
I can feel it in my bones
Gimme sympathy
After all this is gone
Who would you rather be
The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?
Oh seriously
You’re gonna make mistakes you’re young
Come on baby play me a song,
Like “Here comes the sun”
