Teenage Girls with strange symptoms in Le Roy, NY

I always enjoy listening to No Agenda, as I often learn about new things and see different viewpoints to current events besides the traditional media’s take on things. Often I question their logic and sometimes think that they seem to go a bit too far. But, I heard this story and thought that they were likely onto something.

If you haven’t heard, basically the story goes as such; At least twelve Le Roy High School girls have been diagnosed with neurological symptoms involving involuntary tics and sounds, similar to Tourettes. At first officials were concerned and doctors were puzzled, but now it seems that they have identified the reasons behind it, however due to Federal reasons, they can not disclose the cause.

Parents are concerned, and feel that they are being led astray. “None of us know from talking to doctors what caused it,” one man said. “Don’t say you know, because you don’t. We don’t.”

“I cannot and will not share the diagnosis…” said Young, who works for the New York State Department of Health. But why? It can’t be because “It’s easy to figure out who these children are so we don’t want to label any child.” A diagnosis won’t reveal any personal information about them. Or will it? Tourettes like symptoms are kinda hard to hide in real life, so its not their symptoms that are subject to concern.

How about their sexual life? Just a random stab in the dark here, but Adam and John of No Agenda did point out that the cause is likely to be GARDASIL, the HPV vaccine which is now mandatory in high schools apparently. That must be a multi-million (billion?) dollar deal there, to make one companies product a mandatory vaccine for females in high schools across the country. So I wonder… Why just these 12?

12 is a nice round number, really. It is a handy number of vaccines to package together in a bundle. I wonder if these vaccines require refrigeration? Maybe those 12 vaccines were allowed to creep close to room temperature, and were administered improperly, thus causing a flawed reaction. Or maybe the twelve teens already had HPV and the vaccine reacted in a negative manner towards other parts of their body.

Either way is it fishy, and I would look towards GRADASIL being the cause before anything else. Why else would this be covered up, even towards the parents? Oh, hush hush, we can’t let them know that this product can have harmful side effects if its not handled properly… Lets just try to sweep this under the rug, maybe people will not notice and forget about it in a few days. Not likely! In fact, I imagine we will see more and more of these clusters pop up.

What else could it really be? Well, the following paragraph from thedailynewsonline.com show that apparently all other options were looked into.

Private physicians also did “extensive workups” and assessments of each child, including CAT scans and chemical tests, such as testing for heavy metals, Young said. The school itself was tested for carbon monoxide and dioxide levels, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, mold and bacteria, all with negative results. Young repeated what the school district said in November, that “there are no environmental or infectious causes.”

‘Illegal’ drug use and recreational activities have also been ruled out as per other reports. Notice the use of the word ‘Illegal’, for the drug use. Were legal drugs perhaps to blame?

The whole situation seems very odd with officials not divulging any answers. What do YOU think it could be?

Do NOT BLOCK Intersection

One of my pet peeves is when people mindlessly drive into an intersection when they know they won’t be able to clear it before it turns red. Not only is this against the law, it is also highly annoying when your light turns green, and your path is blocked by numb-skulls who think that it is more important for them to get where they are going, then for you to get where you are going.

Now, I am generally not a aggressive driver. At least not anymore. When I was younger I would be more prone to road rage then I am now. Plus I grew up in Toronto. Traffic in Toronto is horrible. In Buffalo, even the worst traffic is more like a Sunday morning stroll in Toronto.

That being said, if I am already pissed off due to other circumstances, I do tend to be a tad more aggressive. But usually not to the point of allowing things to get out of control, and I have never flipped anyone off or anything. In this case, I usually try to make my own way through traffic by driving wherever I have to in order to get through the intersection, including over curbs and sidewalks if needed.

Traffic here is so bad in the mornings that a few of us chipped in and purchased a DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION sign from trafficsignstore.com. It was recently installed and is visible in the photo above, on the far left side of the intersection (it is a one way road).

If only the police would enforce this…

Ron Paul usually knows what he is talking about…

But so many people seem to call him crazy. He is only deemed as being crazy because he rubs against the grain of American politics. He doesn’t bow down to lobbying corporations, or special interest groups. I personally think that he has a true pulse of the nation, and will not be corruptible if he is given power. I believe he will work to bring back our freedoms and push back the police state that we are slowly advancing towards. But this is why they don’t want him as president. The government, the bankers, the corporations, the police and the military seem to desire the police state. Now I am not saying all police officers, and bank tellers, and Walmart cashiers want a police state. In fact I believe that these people are the 99% and most of them feel the same way we do, however especially in law enforcement, they can’t really express their true feelings, else they be deemed a terrorist sympathizer. It is the people in charge who was really pushing for total control of all the slaves of North America, and in fact the world! Big money is floating around, and changing hands all the time between huge corporations and governments. The news and television industry is part of this big money scheme. Be careful, for what you see on TV may not always be true. Watch how they put spins on things, and try to over dramatize specific events, especially if they will support current political actions.

Take a look at this video from CBC in Canada. What an ideal situation… two CF-18′s scrambled to chase away 2 Russian long range bombers, just a day before a big decision to purchase new F-35′s.

Notice however that no one even mentions which airbase the CF-18′s were scrambled from, and why the bombers were in the area to begin with. How fitting. Who lives up in the Arctic who could of seen this? Did anyone see this, or hear about this operation going on other then through the news? i.e. on a scanner, or actually witness the events in the air? Likely not, because I am of the opinion that this event never happened to begin with. The defense department just created it out of thin air to bolster their argument to purchase the F-35′s just because they want new toys and maybe because they are preparing for a new war.

So yeah… When you watch news. Do not just believe whats going on. Ask yourself, Why are they telling this story?

Death Takes a Holiday

With me still being sans Television, I can only guess that todays Christmas specials are no where near as emotional as this episode from M*A*S*H’s Season 9 special, ‘Death Takes a Holiday’.  I decided to watch it today out of the blue, having completely forgotten the storyline of this specific episode.

First off, I am hard pressed to find a series today which can really bring up and discuss such a wide variety of topics that run deep within our human fabric.  Sure M*A*S*H has its corny parts, but many episodes teach very good life lessons.  I believe that all young people should be exposed to M*A*S*H, and perhaps it would help with the rampant greed and carelessness that the younger generations seem to have today.

Regardless, in this episode BJ Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell) basically sets the scene of what I believe to be the primary plot line in the episode.  He talks about how his son back home in the is just old enough now, where BJ could lift him up to place the angel on top of the tree.  And dwells on the fact that he is here in Korea, seemingly a million miles away, missing yet another Christmas with his young family.

As the camp gets ready for a Christmas party, a lone jeep pulls up to the camp.  The driver found a lone soldier at the side of the road with a gunshot wound to the head.  Nurse Houlihan (Loretta Swit) BJ and Hawkeye (Alan Alda) quietly take the patient into the medical facility and begin to preform triage.  They quickly figure out that the bullet severed the patients lower brain stem, and he is on death’s doorstep.

Houlihan looks through the patients pockets and finds a photograph with a note from the young mans family.  The note says “To the best husband and daddy in the world, come home soon, we love you.” signed by his wife, son and daughter.  BJ looks at the photo and sighs.  He reaches for the oxygen mask, and places it on the young mans face, asking Houlihan to set up two units of plasma.  Hawkeye looks at BJ and questions him, stating that it is a waste of time, the man is going to die, might as well just let it happen.  BJ rebuts, saying, “If we can delay it long enough, these kids won’t have to think of Christmas as the day their daddy died.”

Some time passes, all three of them still tending to the patient, keeping him alive.  Sherman Potter (Harry Morgan) comes in dressed as Santa, and frowns at the sight, suggesting that he was hoping that someone had left the light on in the room by accident.  He comes over and checks the patients vitals after getting mixed replies regarding the patients condition.  Potter asks BJ (who said the patient was doing alright) why he said the patient was going to be alright.  BJ responds saying that “The Christmas wreath should be green, not black; he dies on Christmas, they have to live with it.”  Potter understands, but points out that midnight is several hours away, and the chances of the patient making it that long are slim.  BJ, Hawkeye and Houlihan all agree that the patient is in good hands, and they will do their best to try to get the patient to pull through past midnight.  Potter simply looks at them and says simply, “If you three don’t take the cake…  Should anyone ask, I’ll tell them you are working on a special Christmas present for some kids back home” as he turns and exits the room.

Potter continues his role as Santa for the party with the rest of the camp, but stops by and taps Father Mulcahy (William Christopher) on the shoulder, telling him he should pay a visit to the medical facility.  Mulcahy barges in on the trio who are fighting desperately to keep the patient alive.  With over two hours left to go before midnight, the patient is growing more and more unstable by the minute.  Mulcahy can see this and attempts to administer the last rights, but BJ prevents him from doing so, swearing that the patient will make it.

11:25 PM rolls around and Houlihan looses the patients pulse.  BJ wants to inject the patient with adrenaline to get his heart going again to make it the next 35 minutes.  But Hawkeye says “No!  It’s over,  let him rest…”.

The three of them sigh as Mulcahy blesses the body.  Houlihan says “It never fails to astonish me.  You’re alive.  You’re dead.  No drums, no flashing lights, no fanfare.  You’re just dead.”  They sigh again, and she says “I’ll get the death certificate.”  Hawkeye walks over to the clock in the room and opens the cover.  Without a word he moves the minute hand clockwise past midnight and stops at 12:05.  He looks at the rest of them and says in a very bleak voice “Look he made it.  Time of death, twelve oh five, December twenty-sixth.”  Houlihan whispers that that is falsifying records, then Mulcahy says that Christmas is a day of birth.  Houlihan says “That’ll be a first for me” (likely referring to falsifying records).  And Hawkeye says bleakly that “War is full of firsts.”  BJ completes the sentence by saying “… and lasts.”  Hawkeye opens the door to the sound of caroling and the scene fades.

I mean sure, its better when you watch it.  And I am sure I tend to let myself dive deeper into the story, and I am not ashamed as a man to say that I did tear up.

I have seen enough death in my life…  I understand how important a human life is.  It is easy when you don’t know the person.  When you do not let yourself know the person.  When you don’t try to imagine the family and loved ones that the person will be leaving behind.  Few people out there actually have no one in their lives.  Everyone has someone who cares for them.

I am sure most of those kids who were basically saying ‘fuck you mom, you didn’t get me an iPod for Christmas’ would be totally heartbroken if mom got in a car crash and died today.

But people don’t really think about life as being that precious anymore.  Society has conditioned us to think like robots.  Video games (which I am an avid fan of) have conditioned our youth to becomes so desensitized to the concept of death, but really make no efforts to link death to remorse or suffering or any other emotional tie.  There is no real emotional tie in most video games to really enforce that.   Same thing with most shows out there today.  Sure, shows like Walking Dead may have hinted at those emotions and feelings surrounding death.  But few pop-culture shows ever really faced the problem head on as M*A*S*H did.

While the shows politically and socially oriented content seem to be slightly dated, much of the content still has a valid place in our society.  It would be interesting to see a modern version of the show.  But asking for that would likely cause some big name producer to ruin it by making it seem like a reality show, with cameras bouncing all over the place, and jumpy, fast cuts.  Stories like this are better told using classic film techniques.  It seems that is yet another art which has fallen by the wayside these days…  sigh.
